Protesters are already laying down on the road to block the road. That is not peaceful protest. Guess one’s definition of peaceful protest are different than others. I am going to guess a lot of arrests today.

They said trucks would be entering at 7am, and arrests would be made. It's 8am now and the road is still blocked, best I can tell. I'm going to be very disappointed if our government fails us again.

It would actually be clever for the authorities to have pulled a bluff and never intended to actually begin today, i.e., get all the protesters excited and in place for nothing. Repeat this over a period of several days to a week, and they would get bored and start going home. Once most of them are gone, send the trucks in. But we do not have clever people in charge, so never mind.

The authorities could also block the cell phone towers to prevent social media updates, which tend to only inflame the protestors. In the event of a safety issue, they could be turned bck on almost immediately.
