Hawaii will get reparations from the U.S. the day Italy gives reparations to England, Germany, France, Spain, et. al. for enslaving their peoples during the Roman Empire.

I'm astounded at the fantasy world some people seem to live in!

Gosh wouldn't it be nice if I got a pony for Christmas!!!

Wait in line, please. I'm still waiting for my cash handout from the estate of William the Conqueror. It's been going on for ages and still nothing...

African-Americans did not get direct reparations for slavery but they did get other benefits and entitlements, did they not?

Would you be referring to the entitlements of Jim Crow laws, segregation, ghettos, lynchings, riding in the back of the bus, or just the benefit of being treated as second class citizens?

Back to food stamps: Aren't there limits on what can be purchased?
The other day I was behind a woman who spent $80 on her EBT card for 2 packages of fancy oysters.

There does not exist a single state in the USA that is not founded upon the territory of what was once a sovereign native tribe. Not one.

So where does that leave Hawaii in the grander scheme of things?

Yes, we all think we are special.

When will the Jews get reparations for being forced to build the pyramids? Where does fantasyland end and reality begin?

Even a fantasy world has rules to abide by. Like I said this is all hypothetical. If somehow independence is granted, reparations will also be paid. The fantasy part is independence not reparations.

Please visit the Fantasy Hawaiian Kingdom in Sim City or Second Life for a world where reparations might be paid. You could also check whether there are taro fields or papaya farms in FarmVille (if that game is still around), and apply at the Fantasy Reparation Crop Service Offices.

None of those games has Hawaii in it or are you just being silly?

A state of the United States of America going independent is a completely new thing. Who knows what may happen. If Hawaii fought a war of independence and somehow won, then I can see the US cutting if off out of spite like the british did to us. Granting independence as a way to right a past wrong is a completely different matter.

This really is all just fantasy but look at the original topic of this thread. It's about a hypothetical return of the state to the kingdom and if welfare checks would get cut off. I was just expounding out this. No need to get all snarky.
