Bobby Lebrie, near Honokaa, who was referred to me on Punaweb, stopped doing repairs on June 30th. Too bad, he was the best, worth driving to Honokaa for. Sooo, any referrals for anyone doing mower, etc repairs in Puna. Yes, I know about Sears ($90 just to look) & the bigger shops in Hilo. I'm looking for someone who works out of their garage, like Bobby. I really just need the mower blade & some other implements sharpened.

Not saying you should or shouldn't just wonder why you don't do this yourself? It's the perfect DIY job. Good file and clamp the blade to something, you're all set.
Of course anyone with a grinder probably could do it for you as well.

Yes, you're right. I'm ashamed to say, as a former journeyman tool & die for years, I should be doing it myself. I'm just lost without a toolroom & machines at my disposal. Thanks for the wake up call.
