Land/Real estate attorney...
#1
I am wondering... I am selling some property on the big island, what is the best way to go for Hawaii? Normally, I just filled out the forms and send them into escrow. Tho, that was in Oregon. I've also done that way here in Hawaii, but Escrow seems a bit reluctant to help with form issues.

What is the best place to take care of the filling out forms? Seems I may have a buyer and already agreed on the price. I'm looking for reasonable prices at the best service.

Thanks!

Eric

P.S. I've used First American Title on the mainland (they are surprisingly helpful and very service friendly). Here they messed up on our paper work more then once, and to me they don't seem very organized. Who do you guys recommend for title/escrow services?

Thanks!

Feel free to call my real estate attorney Mark Van Pernis at 808.329.3551. I still would use an escrow company though, it would cost you less to get title insurance and such. I use First Hawaii Title almost exclusively. Tanya Bannister is the Branch Manager. 808.329.8227. There are some real estate companies who do "service for fee" and would help you with the closing without you paying commission. If that's the route you want to take e-mail me privately.
