Introduce yourself
My husband and I moved here from the Seattle area about two and a half months ago. We came here for our honeymoon a few years ago and fell in love with the Big Island. After a couple more visits, we decided to save up some money and try our luck living in paradise. At the moment we live in Pahoa and really enjoy the natural beauty, the small town feel of it and all the fruits and veggies.
Though we really do love it here, we are kind of struggling to meet new people and acclimate in general. Any tips in that regard would be appreciated. :-)

Welcome to Puneweb...

Pay attention to the first Sunday of each month. A bunch of Punawebbers get together at Richardson's in Hilo for Scuba Subday. No scuba required. Use the Search feature here to find it.

Best wishes

Scuba Sunday is the first Sunday of each month. Been going on for about 6 years now? If you're not sure where Richardson beach is just ask, someone will get you going in the right direction! Also watch this forum towards the the beginning of the month, Pam Lamont or I will post a reminder.

Aloha, and welcome!

Thanks for the tip! We will definitely keep an eye out for scuba Sunday. We've been to Richardson's before. It's a nice beach.

You can't hide either, cat! Wink I've already been quite entertained. This will be a good place to see how things are going and to kill some time.

Aloha all,

Have enjoyed this site since Lee mentioned it to me sometime back. Hey Lee, watched your link to gardening..killer ideas that have the potential anywhere..anyway, my wife and I moved into the paradise side of HPP almost 6 years ago and have loved it every since. Moved from Whidbey Island and never looked back. Hope to gather intel from all the smart, learned, and crotchity people who contribute to this site. Hope to contribute as well. Moved to Hawaii in 1970, back to the mainland in 1996 to be near grandchildren (every vacation, every year, while on the mainland was spent at the Royal Kona Resort) and moved back to PUNA!!!!!!! 6 years ago. Love it Love it Love it

Aloha and malama pono
