Tiffany Hunt's ethics complaint tossed
#1
The County Ethics Commission tossed out Tiffany Hunt's complaint against Clerk Jamae Kawauchi. An issue was raised about Kawauchi's right of free speech possibly including not speaking to Tiffany.

Unresolved was a point of preferential treatment raised by Hunt in not being included in some press activities... that is related perhaps to Tiffany's qualifications as a member of the press. At the time of the incidents Tiffany Hunt was not a reporter for any published medai except her blog.

Launched with a bang the complain fizzled.

Yes. I saw that. I guess we just can chalk it up to general incompetence versus specific incompetence. Of the Clerk that is!

Further, when has anything dealing with “ethics” ever been really truly honestly dealt with here? It seems that once we get that first layer of that nasty “onion” peeled back, it generally just gets tossed!

12/3/12 - Best day this Island will see in a very very long time!

The "bang" and "fizzle" comment works equally well when explaining the Clerks first, and thankfully, last term as well!

I do have to agree with you that the Ethics Commission is a flimsy excuse for an ethics commission. The Police Commission is rather toothless too.

That old saw about committees probably applies just as well to commissions:

The intelligence of a committee can be determined by taking the lowest IQ and dividing by the number of participants.

I thought Tiffany always gets what she wants and will write anything, even lies to get it....
