In the entire time of my living and coming here (since 1981) I cannot remember another time of smelling hydrogen-sulfide in Pahoa proper.

Would all you punatics who live here and have been around a long time address the above statement of mine, as to it's accuracy or not , thanks, Robert Mage

Not entirely correct. H2S is detectable by *SOME* people at fractional parts per million level. Most people don't smell it until about 1 ppm. The safety levels are in parts per million, the measurement levels are in parts per billion. This has been discussed on these forums before and a handheld unit that goes from 0 to 100ppm, measuring in fractions of ppm, which is parts per billion resolution, are about $400.

So, did you know that we all emit hazardous levels of H2S hydrogen sulfide? A really hot, juicy fart is about 1ppm and being exposed to that level for an hour can be hazardous. This is a Cornell University project and even with a microphone to record the sound level of a really hot, juicy fart, looks like it didn't cost that much. This project is almost 10 years old, lot better and more available equipment these days:

Is there a way to do this through the forum for this project and future ones? Could there be an account number to which we could send contributions for worthwhile causes?

I think that to be acceptable as evidence of an air problem their is the calibration issue, and the sensitivity of the meter, by that standard (sensitivity) the one meter I gave a link to would not qualify as a reliable tool, but I have a research team (myself & a scientist) working on finding an affordable, reliable, alternatives that would better match our needs and when we come up with something I will post that info on this thread, and at that point maybe we could do something collectively.

Acceptable evidence? For what purpose? To tell Pele to stop doing her thing?

Regardless , whether or not it is Pele doing her thing, or a result of Ormat's activities, an on the ground assesment of the air quality at that spot,is the prudent thing to do.

You live in a dark and strange world, Opihikaobob. I'm very sorry that I happened to see that you are a follower of Eustace Mullins who believes that Jews are using "secret passages" from country to country to spread Communism and the bubonic plague. I saw that you are trying to warn everyone about this Jewish scourge. Please crawl back into whatever hole you crawled out of and disappear.

Jackson - you saw the same thing I did. Opihikaobob has been lured into a place where conspiracies fly freely and each and every post you make sucks another IQ point from you. Sometimes it's two points. But it's a good place for people to post hateful nonsense like that because so few people will ever see it.

So someone you did not like posting here starts posting somewhere else so you start personally attacking them here? It bothers you that much? Sad.
