New Restaurant in Pahoa - The Golden Goat
#1
Check out the new restaurant in Pahoa between the museum and Pele's Kitchen. Its open Tuesdays-Sundays for lunch until early evening. On Fridays & Saturdays she will stay open until 10:30 pm. Today she is opening with $2 Tacos until 9 pm. Items on the menu are Mac & Cheese (completely homemade), pulled pork sandwiches, salads, curried tofu sandwiches. Lets support our new local business!

Although I am NOT one of them, I know people who will stay away just because of the name. I like goat myself, but some people will think that's the main menu item.

That's why I never ate at Paolo's Bistro.

So has anybody tried the restaurant? I wanted to try some $2 tacos but didn't want to deal with the rush hour roundabout construction traffic and then look for parking. Maybe I'll try it this weekend.

I understand what you mean about the name- but I think it will work fine in Pahoa. If some visiting city slickers are put off by the name then more local Aloha for me.

Puka Puka Kitchen was doing good business last time I checked, so name isn't everything.

Jeez, they'd have a real problem find a place for a traditional pub lunch in the UK! [Wink]

The Load of Do, The Stool and Urinal, The Festering Carbuncle, Flatulence, The Athlete's Foot, Barfers, The Grumpy Old Git (PT might like that place), The Turd in Hand, The Fish Waste, The Half a Fried Egg on the Pavement and the infamous The Bottle of Wee in the Car Park and so on...

Don't search on golden goat unless you want a bunch of possibly NSFW. Golden goat is a flavor of cannabis. It is also one of the more ancient gold objects found, the golden goat of Akrotiri.
