People Who Made History
#1
Who were they? What were they like? What role did they play in the events of their time? Join instructor Tom Goltz, on an exploration of some of the most outstanding, unusual and influential figures in history. The class will begin with Captain James Cook: a portrait of the man who defied England's social order to become one of the greatest explorers of the 18th century. His sailing expeditions into the Pacific, what he found - and failed to find, as well as his demise at Kealekekua Bay on the Big Island will be covered. Participants will then get to determine the next stops on the journey, based on a list of 25 topics. Be prepared to learn and join in lively discussions in this informative and interactive class.
