Diversity in the Workplace
#1
The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo will conduct a diversity in the workplace workshop in Hilo to be held on Saturday, April 9 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on campus in UCB 331. The cost is $50.

Diversity in the Workplace: Hiring People With Disabilities Who Fit Your Needs is a course taught by Jeani Navarro, who has worked with youth and adults with a variety of disabilities and has 20 years of experience in Career Development and Training. The workshop will cover how to hire a diverse, productive and dependable workforce.

You will learn how to ask questions about skills and abilities rather than focusing on the disability; how to create a positive interview atmosphere; understand reasonable accommodation; target tax credits and other benefits when hiring a person with a diagnosis of a disability, and much more.

Private and non-government employers/businesses may qualify for a 50% tuition
waiver through the state’s Employment & Training Fund (ETF). For details, please visit
http://labor.hawaii.gov/wdd/home/employers/etf/micro/ and apply at least 10 business days before the start of class.

For more information or to register, please contact CCECS at (808) 974-7664 or email ccecs@hawaii.edu
