Lyrid Meteor Shower Monday 4/25
#1
The Lyrid Meteor shower is tonight, and although it's expected to be average, about 20 meteors per hour, there's this:

In addition to the standard bright meteors, you’re going to want to be on the look out for exploding fireballs and the telltale trails of “meteor smoke” they leave behind. In fact, in general the trails of the Lyrids are often exceptionally long, so the meteoroids you do manage to see should be dramatic.

Here's full info on when and where to look:

Thanks, HOTPE. Unfortunately the clouds came in late this evening. The Lyrids doesn't generally produce too many shooting stars but is known for creating more fireballs than other showers. The moon will be a problem tonight though.

The radiant is pretty much overhead in the predawn hours on Tuesday, so early risers might want to have a look, but you're only likely to see the brightest ones.
