No more welfare checks
#31
would you rather they just go to malama market and steal it?
-------------
That isn't the point and you know it. There is a vast entitlement mentality here. There is also a vast amount of fraud in the system. Sit outside Malama or Island Naturals and ask people if they want to sell any of their benefits off the EBT card. Going rate is 40-50% on the dollar. You get $100 of EBT and you pay them $40-$50 in cash. You get a nice discount on your purchase and they get cash to buy alcohol/drugs/cigarettes.

Isn't it cheaper to just give them welfare than incarcerate them.

The average welfare recipient receives less than 20 thousand a year...

Police make 70 thousand +.
Prosecutors 70 thousand +/-.
Judges 100/+.
Correctional officers 30+/.
+ support staff another 20 thousand a year.

.. You get my point

But we do have the freedom to do those three things in whichever order we choose, right?

Depends on who's permission you get to do so.

They are the biggest welfare queens. Individuals receiving assistance are just drops in the ocean compared to the corporations and wallstreet.

So why do you hang out in front of these fine establishments? LOL

And someone else said people have children in order to get benefits. Talk about questioning someone's motives, not to mention the absolutely HORRIBLE message you are sending to certain children just to spred your DRIVEL and lies.

It may be in your mind but that's not the kind of welfare the OP was referring to is it?. I take it you regard all the retirees on SS as some kind of welfare moochers then. Like another poster said, all SS benefits would continue under the kingdom.

Reality check: Although you have to pay in to get SS retirement benefits, a great majority of people pay in only a fraction of what they get back. In that sense, it is at least partially welfare. It's also a sort of Ponzi scheme since it requires an ever increasing number of people paying in to support the recipients. Due to the fact that the government loans itself the money you pay instead of investing it, the return is negligible, and unless there is reform, it will be broke by 2030, kingdom or no kingdom.

Back on topic: Bystander tells us, "Like another poster said, all SS benefits would continue under the kingdom." That is absolutely true, but EBT, Section 8 housing grants, WIC food programs, Medicaid, Medicare, and cash welfare payments under Federal block grants cannot be paid to residents of foreign countries. The kingdom doesn't get to have the cake and eat it, too.
