Came across this site on another forum and wondered what you all thought of it. It looks cute and doable but not sure if the wood is HIBOR treated that would be a concern. Also the claim that two men can assemble this kit in 48 hours sounds too hopefully. Anyone with experience with this type of thing have and comments or thoughts they would be really appreciated by Gene and I. Mahalo Mella L

Mella,
you for forgot to include the site you are talking about. We have looked into most of the kit houses on the island. They all seem to come with HIBOR though.

Hmmm... I gather its from Russia, but Could'nt find anything on Google. Would be worthwhile to find out who the manufacture is and get some more details. Also, perhaps talk to some folk who actually bought it. However, I also did'nt find any scams associated with these guys...

Thanks for putting the website info. I thought it is an interesting little house. We are looking at building a temporary house while we build a house so as to be on the property and to save on rent. I agree it would be good to get more information about this.
Mella, I will be moving over for good in January. I hope to be landscaping in lava soon thereafter.

I saw a house built in a Home Depot parking lot that looked like this, but no loft area. Of course you could join two of them together end to end with the Home Depot one and make it also. It was also very reasonable. I do not know if this kine is available BI.

Here is a response from the company offering this house on e-bay.
My questions were is this house permitted by the county building authorities, and where are you located. Following is the e-mail address for Rob at this company.
No web site but he did send me a file that my computer won't open but my husbands did. It was an excel spread sheet file and shows all their plans.

Aloha…… We are located at 21 Kalanianeole st. We will be open very soon for business. These home kits are new to Hawaii. We have yet to build one here to see what changes may or may not be needed to pass code. I have sold several of them on order for people here that are putting them up un-permitted. They are doing a less expensive model. Attached is a list of all of our models. We are priced much less than multi facetted and bali homes.

I think this little house would be excellent to live in while building your own home then it could be used as a vacation rental perhaps, or just guest quarters. I really like the looks of it. Also it would be a fun project to landscape around. It's just quaint to me.
Which Home Depot has a packaged home? Perhaps it is on their website, I'll try to find it.
Thanks everyone.

At that price, you could get 10 of them and create your own village "Mella Village" ;-)

Sorry for the false alarm here with this interesting house. Guess it is from China and being resold on e-bay, from one persons research. Just thought I'd best share this with you since I started this. I still like the design tho. Mella L
they have many models to choose from......and i am sure that the ebay seller is at least doubling the price. so dont be fooled by what is offered on ebay......many get rich quick schemes there that just repackage anothers product.....who will guarantee it? most of the negative reviews have to do with customer service......also another ebay ploy is to be a seller and toregister under many aliases and post favorable reviews to yourself.....so that would really skew the percentages of neg to pos feed back......this may be a good product but dealing directly with the producer is probably best as the chines are very eager to enter our markets.
