Plenty of smiling and happy people driving around puna and hilo today. Almost like puna was having a birthday or something? Never saw so much traffic around Ainaloa on a Sunday before today, most probably coming or going from the Makuu farmers market or church, I guess.

About 1/2 of the people who receive EBT get it loaded onto their card on the 3rd, the other 1/2 get it on the 5th. Combine that free food with a holiday and that also explains why the meat cases were basically empty at all of the grocery stores.
