Linchpin - I fully appreciate your opinion and agree with it, but to lead a happy life here there are times you just have to accept some of the stranger things that happen in Puna. It's definitely a very unique place.
However, there are some things you just have to learn to live with unless you want to go mad. Adjusting to life here can take some time. My suggestion is not to stop pointing out idiocy, use it as an outlet, but accept you won't be able to change things.
There are lot of brilliant minds living in Puna but it's countered by a lot of ejits (your mammy would have known what that means). That isn't going to change so don't keep banging your head on the wall!
