Ohia trees are dying rapidly, Why?
so obie, why all the continued animosity or personal attacks?

I was trying to speculate upon the many ROD starting possibilities.
The county and state did push for more geothermal expansions and production to come from the lower Puna geothermal power plant sometime around 2009. THE Puna geothermal power plant may have received millions of dollars from the government to build a new plant or expand the existing one over their profitable hot spot. If so, How much of that money went towards the nearby communities health or environmental concerns?
From my understanding, ground zero surrounds the geothermal power plant and this Puna born Rod was first being reported or seen within one mile of the only geothermal power plant, sometime in the year 2010. Planned health or environmental studies may have been started by our state's health department to coincide with the large planned geothermal production increases from lower Puna? That DATA could be very useful to identifying the many possible environmental changes. jmo

Another one of MY crazy thoughts was that a geothermal substance from a prolonged leaking production well "may" create a type of layer capable of causing a fungi mutation.
For example, The vast amounts of porous lava rock throughout the entire east rift zone would allow for a time release of thousands of toxic or arsenic "mud boils" to surface. The geothermal ground released substance could then act like an animal layer in the area, to eventually create a super fungi mutation.

It's abundantly clear that all these problems are related. LFA and coqui hitched rides on geothermal equipment; PGV (working with Monsanto) introduced the CBB as a way to destroy one of the only industries that might compete with PGV.

Now with ROD, PGV can destroy the watershed, so we'll need several more geothermal plants to power the massive desalination plants. On the plus side, this will enable massive development in Ka'u, which will be necessary -- as Puna is gentrified, all of "those people" will need somewhere to relocate.

I haven't figured out how the orbital mind control lasers fit into this but I'm sure they're involved somehow, along with the black helicopters (saw one today, 6am sharp) and chemtrails. Maybe medical marijuana would help?

super fungi mutation.

I've heard this can also occur when your ears get plugged up with water from the hot ponds, and as the brain overthinks a situation the mud boils create an animal layer of super fungi mutation in the cerebellum. Sadly, with current medical technology it's irreversible.

Sorry, that's not a likely disease vector at all. You need more science and less science fiction (B movie style at that).

Found a video that shares some good tips on how to manage this ROD.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6kN1EMkdEA

I thought J.B Friday did a great job in this video.
The potential impacts this ROD disease could have on the Big island's watershed and bird populations are concerning.

These thousands of Dead Ohia's that have become homes for the newly introduced fire ants and Bore beetles may be capable of more harm than just spreading the ROD. These types of invasives may also lead to other problems like increased health issues for our pets and ourselves. jmo

You might want to keep an eye on your coconut trees also...

"KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park on the Big Island will be closed intermittently Monday and Tuesday while experts figure out what’s killing its trees and plants.

Over the past few years, park employees have noticed that coconut trees are dying at an alarming rate."

Coconut heart rot could be the culprit here.Caused by a fungal infection.

Good evening alaskyn66.

Mahalo for sharing your news, would you happen to have a link?

I have also witnessed several seemingly mature coconut trees suddenly die mysteriously here in leilani "ROD's ground zero".

If your interested, this article shares some information regarding the mysterious ash tree wipeout being caused by borer beetles.

This local article from 2012 shows how fast and devastating this ROD and fungi spreading beetle has really been.

These types of invasives may also lead to other problems

Failing to fund mitigation may lead to other problems, but I don't see that issue being discussed.

Hawaii may not allow fracking but do they allow the use of fracking fluids?

This article helps explain how Fracking fluids even in small doses have been known to kill hardwood trees.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=115x303543

Does Puna's geothermal power plant use these same chemicals in their enhanced closed loop system?

Would a blowout like we have seen in the past from our Geothermal power plant potentially spray these fluids over ground foliage?
Would a leaking geothermal production well possibly contain any of these known tree-killing fracking chemicals?
Could any of the 4.2 million gallons of water a day being used at our Puna geothermal power plant possibly contain any of these fracking fluids?

This unexplained boom was felt throughout Puna, Could it have been an underground explosion?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_GssUFLdpM

Just after this unexplained explosion some people in Puna started to notice the Ohia trees start to die.

Could an underground explosion cause leaks in Geothermal underground reservoirs, pipes, or wells.?

http://www.hawaiibusiness.com/geothermal...hot-topic/

If our Puna Geothermal power plant did mix or use small amounts of added chemicals with the 4,ooo,ooo gallons of water a day. Would they be required to release the ingredient's or chemicals used for their enhanced concoctions or claim they could not due to industry proprietary reasons?
