Fellow members,
How many miles or to what street or roughly how many feet does the public bus travel into the Ainaloa subdivision on Ainaloa Blvd? The route online shows going into subdivsion on Ainaloa Blvd. But I am having trouble finding out where exactly it stops and turns around and heads out of the subdivision.
Mahalo in advance.

I usually have to call the office to find out exactly where they pickup/drop off, or ask a driver on that route. I've also found that drivers on the more remote routes tend to be more flexible about their stops too.

hmmm, They only stop at posted signs. Don't you see any signs on Ainaloa Blvd?
If the bus was more frequent and reliable ... I'd consider taking the bus than driving in.

From the looks of the map, it seems to go as far ainaloa as it does in HPP, about 15 streets down. But, I'm thinking the streets are further apart in HPP.

Public transit is very difficult in a sparsely-populated area.
I think it's unlikely that County will solve this problem.

About 650' further apart in HPP.

The ONLY bus stop sign I've seen in my 8 years here is on Maku'u in HPP near the hui,and I'm thinking that's only been there for like 4 years? It's when the route came into HPP. ARE there signs for bus stops on the highway? Are they really small or something? I see people waiting on 130 outside of HPP at a fire hydrant, but don't see a sign.

Hele - On - only goes to the long house..
Sits for 15 to 20 mins idling and then goes back to Hwy 130.

Mahalo Mrs. Mimosa and others for the input. I sure hope in the future more buses are added to the fleet and more round trips are added to the schedule.

The buses have official stops that are not marked too, especially outside of the city. And depending on the driver and how busy the route is at that time you can get them to drop you in different spots as long as they can pull off to not block traffic. Drivers have told me in general they can't stop anywhere they might possibly block traffic because people are quick to complain and then they get in trouble. So in general they only stop at marked locations, especially in and around the city (Hilo and Kona).
I've not ridden the bus past the HPP area, so I can't offer any specific help, but if you call the office or talk to one of the drivers on the route they will give you the details. (808) 961-8744
