Barrow's a dry town-so beer iz fairly expensive. I bet!
Never been there in Alaska, but I've been to Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau in recent years. Prices were noted, and my groceries are definitely more expensive on da Big Island. I suspect the analysis is on the money.

Now, Pepe's DID have very high prices. I got run out of there once and never went back.

All the more reason to grow and raise ones own food - even just in containers or in plastic green houses .
The tax on food along with the recent 15 percent increase on food imported via the wharf-age fee ( tax ) of 15 percent has made nutrition much more costly here indeed . Mrs.Mimosa

If I recall correctly, the wharfage fees are to be raised 15% per year for 3 years. (Don't ask where that money goes; it's not for your benefit.) |
