It's not surprising now that these reps have what they think is their majority 5, would want to remove Leslie Blyth from previous appointment to the HRC. She is most qualified and attempted 2+ months ago to get this committee up and going w/2 new volunteer members. HRC's composition is to be 1 rep and 2 members. A solicitation to members for HR volunteers occurred prior. These reps stonewalled and obstructed saying they wanted to vet them first. The HRC headed by a bylaw following rep and volunteers, seemed to be a threat to those w/other agendas?...GM annual review, review salaries and job descriptions, ensure proper hiring procedures are conducted and so forth...and in the meantime the GM has gone rogue and hired 2 employees and moved another from w/in to another position...all w/out HR or board involvement. With an HR in place, these kinds of maneuvers wouldn't be possible.

I just wish these communications, or whatever they are, could be a little less incoherent and contradictory. Just these first three sentences left me bewildered.

Lori Laucik Pres:
"After consulting with my attorney regarding the special meeting he made me aware of issues with how the meeting was scheduled. Originally we were emailed it was Executive Session for board appointments, later after the question of whether board appointments are executive session it was changed to personnel issues. After researching who personnel are it was changed to complaints on some board members. Directors should be given a list of the complaints so that there is time to research and defend themselves, this is due process and covered in Roberts Rules.
Patrick (Murdoch) emailed today we need to meet to vote for Ruth (Mizuba) to meet with the Post Master from Honolulu, this is not true the mailbox committee is a membership committee and a lot owner issue not a board issue so the board should not be having votes regarding mailboxes. Besides this issue was never brought up until today.
A special meeting should be called when business needs to happen before the next regularly scheduled board meeting. The fact that the agenda has changed more than once shows there was not a need to have a special meeting and the fact that the board has not been given a list of complaints shows there was no need for a special meeting.
For these reasons and after consulting my attorney I will not attend the meeting scheduled January 29 6pm. If a meeting is rescheduled, meeting the criteria set in the bylaws and Roberts Rules of Order I will attend if I am available.
Any decisions voted on that are in conflict of the bylaws or Roberts Rules during an improper meeting will be null and void according to Roberts Rules pg 343.
Lori Laucik"

eric Mermaid already posted this on the previous page, and the treasurer's letter.
Thanks for keeping us abreast. What a friggin mess we have here. My hats off to these hard working board directors. Wish the rest of them were the same. Takes more than two to clean up the mismanagement and corruption going on.

At least these two Law Abiding BOD Members are trying to bring to our attention the blatant illegal activities of the Majority BOD.
We do have a right to know what’s going on, and I am grateful for the input of an actual Membership supporting Board Member.
Usually, honest Board Members reisgn in disgust after weeks or months, and the same law breaking people recycle their way back onto the BOD through appointments. These 2 women are standing up to the Majority and I am grateful to them for their efforts on our behalf.

Update: The "illegal" mtg occurred despite all the discrepancies. We paid the recording secretary to record an illegal "special exec session board meeting". They changed the agenda the day of on the HPP website which makes evident their purpose to hold a "special" mtg was NO emergency, had NO validity.
Dist 5 rep is still President and Dist 7 rep is still Treasurer... we'll see what happens at the Feb board mtg.
The FC had their first meeting w/the new treasurer which went well. The GM was absent again. The GM wasn't able to provide financial info for the mtg despite having a 7 day heads up of the FC mtg. The FC reviewed the "only" bid received so far for the main drag road striping.
There's still a conflict of interest w/the recent board appointment of CCrelly. The conflict of interest over his wife's employment w/HPP is a clear violation so why his application was even accepted is questionable.
To clarify over the removal of the former treasurer...the FC asked the board to remove/replace the treasurer bc of a unanimous vote of NO confidence. When the matter came up at the board mtg, the treasurer made a motion for the board to vote right then, and to our surprise the treasurer voted for his own removal. He was the 5th vote out of 8 seated reps. After, he made the motion for Dist 7 rep to be the new treasurer. Nay votes were Dist 1, 2 and 6.

I don't blame you! It shouldn't be this complicated. If people just followed the rules and ran a clean lawful operation w/out all this jockeying for power and personal agendas, and remembered the oath they signed to follow the bylaws to do what's in the best interest of the association, not themselves, things would be a heck of lot simpler for EVERYONE. Bc they don't and WON'T, what you get is complete chaos and unethical WHACKO law breaking maneuvers. What complicates it even further are employees participating in the chaos.

If people just followed the rules
Would that be anything like "developer must pave roads prior to final subdivision plat approval"?
Seriously, how much time and money has been wasted cleaning up after County on this one?

Here we go again, more whacko maneuvers...Surely this can wait until their regularly scheduled board mtg but they just can't wait to depose these reps.
