To all:
What does anyone know about Ms. Kierkiewicz views and positions as
a candidate for Council District 4?
That is the appropriate topic for this thread. Thank you.
I would like that information in detail as a voter.

Her views and positions aren’t important - politicians will just change them when convenient. More so is where is she from and who does she know. Off the bat, since neither of her names end in a vowel it doesn’t look to promising.

In this Council race we seem to have two very capable people to choose from. What a welcome change from State and National elections.

It would be nice if people would concentrate on why they support one or the other, rather than orchestrate malicious conjecture about someone they do not support.

A quick Google produced these responses:

Eileen Ohara

And Ashley Kierkiewicz

I hope the campaign season will produce a clearer picture of who would be our best choice.

From Ohara's almost two year old Star-Advertiser piece:

"Anything else you’d like voters to know about you?

I am endorsed by Hawaii Government Employees Association . . . "

OK, unless something really big has changed, we have a problem already. Now I understand why Ohara didn't bother to closely question the mayor's budget before she voted for the last round of tax increases. It will be interesting so see if she gets to vote on a GET increase in an election year. Meanwhile, Kierkiewicz needs to get some clear policy points out there and soon. Running on the feel good elements of a resume will only get you so far.

Most any politician will seek Union support, (votes and money).
Last pol that didn't seem to care too much was Linda Lingle.
Do you remember it like I do?
At least if my memory serves, heard more than once some HGEA complaining about Lingle "intimidating" them some years back
when she was Governor.

punaticbychoice: Lingle got elected twice in a very blue state, so maybe she was on to something. HGEA calling anybody else intimidating is really funny.

Meanwhile, if any of Kierkiewicz's friends are reading this, they need to tell her to make some policy declarations on taxes, infrastructure, medical resources, etc. soon.

Stinky haole guy.

Not only is Kimo demonstrably wrong, I've yet to understand the mentality of those that use an internet site provided for them for free but use it to insult the person who did it. Is there a special place of internet hell where these people will end up? Or perhaps the place that spawned them?
