That is not true. The study you pointed to doesn't "prove" that at all.
Buying "organic" food leads to sharp pain in the back hip pocket area.

Gosh Paul, maybe one of us has a problem with reading and understanding?

The authors calculated cancer risk
Comparing the participants’ organic food scores with cancer cases, the researchers calculated a negative relationship between high scores (eating the most organic food) and overall cancer risk. Those who ate the most organic food were 25% less likely to develop cancer. Specifically, they were 73% less likely to develop non-Hodgkin lymphoma and 21% less likely to develop post-menopausal breast cancer.

Even participants who ate low-to-medium quality diets yet stuck with organic food experienced a reduced risk of cancer, the authors found.

One study isn’t proof of anything. The word you’re desperately searching for is “evidence”.
There have been many studies showing that “organic” food has no health benefits at all.

You guy are just gonna have to agree to disagree.
Assume the best and ask questions.

I certainly agree to disagree. I'm not the one creating topics about non-Hawaii related issues and subjecting everyone to my superior intuition.

If even one person reads this thread or others like it and turns to organic eating and dramatically changes their health for the better then... then mission accomplished.

Ok good we're in agreement on disagreeing. All settled and done PaulW

Aloha.

I just want a farmer's market at the Pahoa park, so farmers can sell and we can buy local produce. This was already approved by the county. Why hasn't it happened? Not all farms were destroyed.
EW: I don't have any studies to back this up I do think it would be helpful for many who want our community to get back up. You can then buy organic or not.

The study has some severe flaws in that it notes that participants that were of higher income levels had lower rates of xyz... Of course they did. They have access to better health care and use that access.

On a side note, I do not bother to purchase organic anything unless it on sale. My last doc visit, when she looked at the results of the various blood tests, looked up and asked me if I was a vegetarian. I laughed and said not a chance. I simply eat a decent amount of fresh fruit and some raw veggies every day, followed by beef, pork, chicken during dinner, plus all the fried foods I feel like. I am almost 60 and slightly overweight.

They have time to participate in surveys.
