"Back then" Fosters was actually brewed in Australia. It's not even close to being the same brew that it was "back then".

Zacly Fosters .. Canadian for beer. I think that was what ..mid 80s. Its prolly brewed here now . I haven't checked.

You need to re-read what I wrote. Good beer doesn't need flavor added to it and I never said you couldn't have a decent beer with flavor added to it. One or two people seem to be a bit trigger happy here, perhaps after a beer or two too much?

Tom, my question was sincere (and sober), it had nothing to do with your feud with RWR. You said “A decent beer doesn't need flavor added to it, least of all mustard.” Your next 2 posts recommended a coconut porter. I hope you can understand why I might have seen this as a contradiction. Upon reading your explanation, my current understanding is that coconut is an acceptable addition, but mustard is not. Is that correct?

People’s tastes vary greatly, and it’s a good thing. If they didn’t there would only be one choice of beer in the stores. Borrring. I can tell that my tastes are quite different from yours. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. Most porters and stouts are too sweet for me to enjoy more than maybe a half glass. Add some coconut and factor in a low IBU count and this porter sounds sickeningly sweet to me. I wouldn’t have high hopes for the mustard IPA, but I would try it before the porter. Stranger combinations have surprised me.

Conversely, if sweet dark beers are your preference then I understand why a mustard IPA might repulse you. To each his own.

Geez Tom, I'm "stalking" in a thread I created ? You simply cannot accuse then try and squirm out with a weak, long winded parry. At some point in spoken language, the speaker has inferred a point and should not double back on it defensively ( trigger happy ) when it was not clear.

When Speaking of IPA from Stone, I had stated had looked all over for it to no avail. THEN said, Safeway has IPA mustard. Next to Sierra Nevada.

Ahhh, now I get it! It's not beer flavored with mustard, it's mustard flavored with beer! And it's not just Stone Brewing, there are several companies that produce beer flavored mustard. I only found one that had mustard flavored beer.
