When you're standing on the seashore in Hawaii, what's first landfall beyond the horizon? Click on the link, and the map and see (yes, Big Island is a little small but you get the general idea). Most surprising for me was that sometimes the first land in a line from our shore is Antarctica.

I had no idea that one line of sight from Hawaii includes Pakistan, another two Gabon, and Iran. Norway and Finland were a little surprising as well but given that's over the Arctic it's not too surprising. The Antarctic isn't too much of a surprise to me, but the east coast of Australia was!

Good you incorporate an assume x line of sight. Still though, could be all over the place.
HOTPE what's your starting point and heading ?
