There is something free for Puna residents and Hawaii County.
suspends fares for all fixed bus routes and paratransit services offered by Hele-On until Dec. 31, 2023. The Council adopted the measure 7-0, with members Tim Richards and Aaron Chung excused.

Should have been and should always be free.
Reducing road congestion is a major benefit.
Reducing pollution is another.
Allowing those who cannot afford a vehicle the freedom to move about is priceless.

Tell that to the DOE. Individual cars ferrying kids to school is a major source of congestion.
