Pump Room Noise Insulation
#1
Been thinking about insulating the small plywood shack my pump and tank are in to reduce noise into the house from the pump.  Anyone have any experience on what has worked for them or what to avoid?  Thanks.

I've used cinderblocks to make a sound barrier when running the generator.

As far as the pump goes, I prefer to hear it. If it goes off for no reason I know something is wrong. One time it cycling on and off roused me from my slumber. It had been cycling for awhile because the lanai was flooded. The hose to the pressure switch had burst. Another time it led me to figure out the toilet flapper needed to be replaced.

You should take up this offer, Rob, that way you'll be able to check if 'elepaio is the elderly lady he claims to be.
