I find it interesting that although Dart made a direct hit on the asteroid, it will take a couple of months to know how that impact will affect the astroid's orbit.

Some of the telescopes in Hawaii observed the impact and measured the asteroid's orbit in the days after the event. The links I sent aren't to a dictionary but legitimate research papers that are undergoing peer review.
