Old thread, but for our farming and ranching purposes they are invaluable.

Invaluable and not likely to be driven on blacktop with cars and trucks. 

The morons who try to drive down a street with an ORV are braindead.

Well if they aren't brain dead while driving, many of them become so when they flip the ATV while driving insanely with no helmet.

Dark humor aside, my biggest concern with the damned things is the people who let their kids do daredevil stunts. My policeman friend who is normally tough as nails was upset for days after he responded to a call a few years ago near Pahoa where one child was killed and another had life changing injuries. Driven by adults on a farm, ranch, or designated recreational area is fine. But kids on the substandard Puna roads? No way! I call the cops whenever I see that.
