Deleted thread
#11
We could have a small note for a headline instead of Deleted Thread.

Format could be as follows - Henceforth the thread formerly known as ________ has been deleted due to _______________.

For example - Henceforth the thread formerly known as I don't like PGV has been been deleted due to The Usual Shenanigans.

you're sorry for derailment?

Would that be like posting about a comment from another thread on this thread?  (“one poster on here believes…”)
Which is tangentially similar in the same way a comment about deletion and apologies is similar?

It was a joke, son.

I was editing my post with a comment to Chas at the same time you posted with your 'sorry' comment.  Derailment is a common occurrence in PW  threads.  Sometimes folks apologize for it, sometimes they don't.   Some posters get almost angry about it if they don't like a derailment(not the case here, obviously), and yet on other posts those same posters might initiate a derailment.  TomK brought up part of the discussion of the deleted thread.  I added the part of the discussion he didn't.

On a more serious note:
I think it’s good that we’re able to delete our own comments, but would prefer that a person other than Rob didn’t have the ability to delete other people’s comments.  Which this thread points out is possible.

What does this thread say about all of us that this is how we choose to spend our time? :-)
Certainty will be the death of us.

I see your point, HOTPE, but how often are threads deleted by an OP?

Usually a deleted thread is Rob removing a one that doesn't follow PW guidelines.

Kalianna makes a good point about how we choose to spend our time.

Probably more often now that people know it’s possible.  It wasn’t on the old Punaweb.
Example: once people discovered they could change their User Title, and how to do it, many more did.

So time will tell if there is an increase in deleted threads.  I like that folks can change their user title.  It's harmless and amusing.

TomK neglected to mention that one poster on here believes that if a thread is deleted by the OP that the OP should apologize to everyone who posted in that thread for wasting their time.

Right, TomK?

Please don't play dumb.

It was your thread that you deleted about deleted threads.  And what I wrote above was your opinion on that matter.

I can't prove it, but you and I both know that that was your opinion.

Own it.
