Hawaiian telcom island wide outage
#1
Hawaii telcom is reportedly having an island wide outage.  Apparently affecting some Spectrum users as well.  Users are reporting that there is internet, but so painfully slow it's unusable.  I'm experiencing that in Orchidland and using cellular internet.

A cut cable. Supposably... I'm still online in Mt view. But it's about as fast as the speed of smell.

Well this sucks. It's been out for 6 hours now. No Internet and no TV. Looks like it's gonna be a good book and a big glass of wine night.

I want a discount.

It is 7:50pm and the sluggish speeds I was experiencing most of the day on my HTI fiber connection has gone away. Webpages now load normally.

This outage should've never happened after HTI finished the fiber ring that spans the entire island in 2023.  There are also two diverse fiber optic cables linking the Kawaihae submarine fiber landings to the terrestrial fiber ring, which should've minimized the impact of the break in Waimea.

Cut cable is BS. It is a cyber attack situation. It is happening everywhere. They cannot admit it.

And how do you know this?

A "Red Dawn" situation? Original or reboot?
