Crash at Bottom of Makuu in HPP
#41
Patricia posted that the association should hire a professional and posted a link that has this illustration of what needs to be done.
It shows exactly what has already been done.

Not only can't you see orange lines (all THREE) of them marked on a road in plain daylight, but you obviously did NOT read the text that accompanies that illustration. The text which goes into the SIZE of signs that should be considered, the REFLECTIVITY, the road markings, and curb "options."

And BTW, the small, double arrow sign, which is currently installed at the intersection, was not there the night the accident occurred.

Just MORE misinformation and misdirection on your part.

The orange markings on the road are of the position of the tires after the car rebounded from the wall. Standard in a police crash investigation. There are no skid marks, only gouges in the road from a wheel digging in as the car was dragged onto a rollback.

Then you post a picture while you are facing in the wrong direction.

Look again. Those are not "gouges." They are skid marks. AND they are marked with orange paint.

The marks left to right? Could be, but in that case they're unlike any skid mark I've seen before.

Excellent point Sister.  We must protect each other from the ocean as well.  I have devised a plan.  Since I am the only one coming up with viable solutions I think I will run against Patricia for student council or whatever it is.  Does a Punawebber have to nominate me?

More snark. More disrespect, And so "clever."

HPP owners "do" something. They pay mandatory road fees , which should (ALL of those fees) be spent on roads. THAT is my "solution."

Yes, this is a skid mark that looks nothing like the first photo you posted.  This one shows a rubber patch that corresponds with the full width of a tire.

The first photo is two narrow marks with a gap of unblemished pavement between them.  This apparently indicates damage caused by the rims of a wheel.

Also notice that the distance between the two orange marks appears to be about the same length as a car's wheelbase.  I think Obie nailed it.

Is there any place on the planet where laws and codes enacted to protect people from themselves are so prevalent as seen in the USA?

I find it somewhat refreshing to visit a foreign country and note the numerous hazards that would never be allowed to exist back here.

OK, sometimes they take it a bit too far!   Big Grin
