As the title says, I need to get rid of/remove large money trees ( dracaena marginata ). The biggest is about 18" in diameter. The area is about 60 x 50 feet, planted in rows of 4. ( Way back in the day, my nursery had been selling 10 gallon pots of this to the mainland as indoor office decor. It was very good money until the wars in Central America stopped and production moved there, causing the price to fall off a cliff. )
Some plant people have recommended chain sawing down to 3-4 foot stumps, injecting Milestone, waiting a week or two until the roots die, and then having a small dozer come in to rip up the stumps/roots.
Any suggestions for another way, or improvements on the above method are welcome. I'm getting ready to build an ohana in that area, and my concern is the very invasive nature of dracaena roots. I don't want them going up through the concrete house pad, or jamming the septic system.
