"Didn't you post that you have resided on the Big Island in Hawaiian Acres for 30 years?"
Yes. my husband and I moved here in 1987, bought and built our property from 1987 to 1989. From that time until 2023, we commuted from Hawaii to our jobs on the mainland going back and forth. Then we retired in 2023 living here full time since then. I then joined PunaWeb. Didn't you also post that you were a lawyer on the mainland in multiple states ? Yes. Both my husband and I are copyright attorneys admitted in multiple states, which is quite common with copyright lawyers and is possible through what is known as the Uniform Bar Examination. Further, even though we are now retired, we are now "Of Counsel" with the firm we worked for for over 30 years. You for sure didn't work from home in the dial up days. Yes, that is correct. We did not perform much work when we would commute back to Hawaii outside of basic emails and connection to a file server. It was painful at times to say the least. I could log onto our email server back then, make coffee, mow the grass for an hour or so and then sit down and get caught up on any emails I needed to attend to. That all being said, 90% of our work was performed by us when on the mainland. We commuted most of those years on a 2 to 3 weeks here in Hawaii and 2 to 3 weeks on the mainland. When on the mainland we also flew across the country doing our jobs. I moved to Hawaii on Oahu in 1973 and lived there until 1976. I moved to Utah because I couldn't afford Hawaii. I now spend 7 months in Hawaii as a resident and vacation in a log cabin on a small lake in Ohio for 5 months in the summer Why would you move to a place that you could not afford? And if you had to move to Utah because you could not afford to live in Hawaii, how can you now afford to live here 7 months and in Ohio 5 months? Here is one fact I believe. Donald Trump was elected president by a majority of voters. Get over it and quit crying on Punatalk every day. I also believe that fact, never disputed it. I don't see what there is to get over. I accept the results of an election. I don't deny the results of an election because my guy (or gal) lost and only accept the results of an election when my guy wins. I wonder what response I would get if I asked you who won the 2020 election? I also don't how you seem to think I am "crying" everyday about Trump, the election or national politics, other than the posts I may make with respect to the Trump administration's policies and how those policies impact Hawaii and its people. Just like another half dozen plus likeminded PunaWeb posters do as well, yet, for some unbeknown reason, I seem to be the focal point of your implied animosity. I do think however, your implied animosity towards me is, and while even though several other posters have from time to time proven that most of your "factual" posts to be "nonfactual" to say the least, but I seemingly have been the one who does that the most. It's also why you, along with a few of your cohorts, believe you can say anything and its gospel truth, whereas whatever I say, its bullshit. In addition to the fact that I am a woman. At any event, enjoy Ohio. Maybe have MyManao come for a visit for a few of those 7 months! I'm sure you 2 would make a great couple. Any person who would sell their entire soul and everything they stand for solely to be against me has got to be a great partner for you! ETA: I hope the way I quoted you is acceptable to your feelings about quoting. I would hate to unjustly upset you with yet another area of your seemingly insensitive nature.

BTW, Trump was trounced in Hawaii 3 to 2, and I certainly won't "get over it" when he's breaking the law and undermining democracy on practically a daily basis. You are a part of the PW ohana.. the rabid chick is an interloper.. the tea leaves say she's soon to take a long overdue extended vacation.. all's good. So, you joined PunaWeb on June 30th, 2020. So just a little over 5 years ago. Obie joined PunaWeb on February 13th, 2009. A little over 16 years ago. I joined PunaWeb on May 21st, 2023. Just a little over 2 years. And now, you are dictating who PunaWeb "Ohana" is? So then, just how much does PunaWeb "Ohana" status cost? Or is it time since registration that determines that? Or is it the total time spent on PunaWeb under several different screen names and cumulatively added all up together that determines that? Would it be safe to ask that I could archive PunaWeb "Ohana" status in say another 2 - 3 years then? At any event, this "rabid chick" sure would love to see you and Obie sitting on Obie's boat dock in Ohio talking about how great America is.

June 30th, 2020...
Is the date the new forum software was launched.. nothing more.. You're done.. toast.. over and out.. gone. How could it be otherwise when you've attacked every single member here.. and on top of that think you're impartial? You're rabid. Nobody like play with you. Bye bye.

Only your registration date became effective on the day a new forum software was implemented. Would that be considered posting false information? I have the utmost respect for numerous PunaWeb posters. It's just a few that have an issue with me. Mostly because they don't like the truth. I also notice not too may posters interact with you, even when you're licking their boots. I also remember the utmost vile, disgusting things you said about me that did get you put on that short one-week vacation, but being the impartial, generous and forgiving person that I am, I will not bring that up again. And yes, kalianna, the Bicker Board is STILL being used for its original purpose!

I did it on a whim. I had never even visited Hawaii but I had a chance to get a job advancement with Western Airlines. I had a guaranteed job. Couldn't afford to buy a house even then. Transferred to Utah and bought a house for about the same amount as a down payment on Oahu. My wife and I each worked 2 jobs from then until I retired to be able to own homes in 3 states at the same time.

My husband and I more or less moved to Hawaii on a similar whim, but with the specific intent to buy then build what is now our full retirement home. We also both worked two jobs. Had a condo in Newport Beach for years which we just recently sold and also inherited the Mother in Law's house in Sun City, AZ but still have that as our "escape" in the event of some major island disaster, and that's assuming there are still ways to get off the island! At any event, get your ass back to Hawaii. For the weather of course!

"Why would you move to a place that you could not afford?
I don’t think it’s that uncommon for people to move to Hawaii, without realizing that it’s not just a gallon of milk and a house that costs more, it’s everything. Here’s someone who lived in Hawaii as a youth, then tried to move back when he retired. Unsuccessfully. According to CNBC, people need $2.21 million saved by age 65 just to cover basic living costs for 25 years in Hawaii, more than any other state in the U.S. This figure means everything — housing, groceries, transportation and medical care are twice or three times the average in other states. Most retirees in Hawaii must adapt to sharply higher prices or simply leave. Everything from food to electricity comes at a premium. Average home prices are more than $850,000, nearly double the price on the U.S. mainland. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/articles...09586.html (08-07-2025, 02:02 AM)HiloJulie Wrote: "The data the two missions collect is widely used, including by scientists, oil and gas companies and farmers who need detailed information about carbon dioxide and crop health. They are the only two federal satellite missions that were designed and built specifically to monitor planet-warming greenhouse gases." My apologies for the delayed response; I've been busy. However, your post confirms what I already knew. And just to be clear, you mentioned a "set of satellites". In reality, what exists is one satellite, OCO-2, and one instrument, OCO-3, the latter being designed to operate on the International Space Station. That is not a set of satellites; it's one satellite and one instrument. However, I'll accept your misuse of sarcasm and request that you do indeed narrate the info for me because I don't think you understand what you are talking about. |
