"Good point. OK, let's bicker about it."
"Of course, it's the responsibility of Congress to fund NASA. Up until this point, they've indicated an interest in maintaining a status quo budget. The question is whether their Republican members will eventually cave to Russell Vought's Project 2025 desire to cut NASA funding by 25%. I suspect the answer will be "yes"."
Nothing to bicker about there!
I wholeheartedly agree, however, even if Congress funds these missions, what's to stop the cash from flowing by some unelected unknown government body created under the pretense of efficiency? We piss away 10 times plus a day the 15 million these missions need to run every year on some pretty damn stupid shit!
I also feel this particular issue, as well as so many others, has nothing to do with "saving" "cost cutting" or just plain old money itself, it's more about the dumbing down of science in general, coupled with the making the masses ignorant to the reality with respect to our ever-changing climate. And even more importantly, how that ever changing climate directly affects this tiny little spec of a rock called Hawaii.
While I am no scientist, but could the drought that Hilo is currently experiencing be even in the minutia of possibility somewhat related to this ever-changing climate? Or is it another one of those "100-year events" that we just are experiencing this week?
