What is it? Where is it?

If everyone else cries uncle I'll spill the beans.. but really this isn't rocket science.. i.e., there's only one plausible answer.

So you want everyone to "cry uncle" before answering? That's weird. Why not just answer, given there's only one that makes sense? Or do you just need some posters to support you first?

Why not..?

Because.

You mean state Route 11 aka  Māmalahoa Highway? That is a long road, which I have yet to traverse in its entirety. Perhaps I should just book the Circle the Island tourist trip around the Belt Road (11, 19, 190) for $29?

NOPE! It's not on the "belt" road, aka Hwy 11, aka Mamalahoa Highway.

Again, kalianna had the closest guess so far. And as was originally said, this sign USED to be on the road in question. And to reconfirm, if you drove this road in one direction it would lead you to Hwy 11 but if you drove it the other way, where you would have seen this sign, you could be on your way to Pahoa!

Also, one more hint, in addition to the road this Aloha sign was on having a name and a number, it also has an acronym!

BINGO!!!

Also known as the Puna Emergency Access Route, or P.E.A.R. It was Ainaloa (or Pahoa) bound right before the intersection of Road E aka Kiʻoele Road.

It was up for many years, but for some reason disappeared in late 2024. Which, when I think about it was shortly after we adopted Barney...

Yay me!

Whether somewhere in the depths of my ADHD ferret-brain I remembered seeing it along that road or what, but I'm glad I won the prize.

I know there are a few other of those cute and sweet hand-lettered signs on poles around there, as well as the mural on the bus stop there. I think it's the same person who did that as did Bruddah Iz on the electric stand at the Ainaloa roundabout?

Oooh! This means I get to post the next pic? :-D

Ok, this might be really easy for some, or not.

It is in Puna.

The computer says it is here: Punalu'u Black Sand Beach Park: 96-876 Government Road, Naalehu, HI 96772. That is not exactly in Puna, but my friends in the FBI will dig deeper. The WWW lists at least four instances of this sign, as it is popular to buy online.

The agent in charge (AIC) says it is in Ahalanui Park

Ooops, well, I guess honorable mentions (for me? or guessers?) since those aren't the location where I took the picture. Guess I'll see where else it's been spotted and maybe give the location I took it come tomorrow. Keep the fun going! :-D

The image in post #147 shows the Zodiacal Light caused by scattered sunlight from dust grains left over from the formation of our Solar system 4.5 billion years ago. You can see it on dark nights after sunset and before sunrise. For music fans, Queen co-founder and lead guitarist Brian May received his PhD in astrophysics in 2008 after submitting his thesis  "A Survey of Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud".
