The Bicker Board
There are posts regarding TV Shows bickering in this thread so it seems like this fits better here than anywhere else.

If you have children who will be watching The Super Bowl with you tomorrow, and you would rather they not be subjected to Bad Bunny, there is good news.  TPUSA is producing an alternative halftime show for people who love their children and their country.

"Turning Point USA recently announced more details for its “All American Halftime Show,” which will be airing Sunday, February 8, around 8 p.m. Eastern time. (3 PM Hawaii Standard Time)

The All American Halftime Show will be a unique, patriotic event proudly celebrating American culture, freedom, and faith. The show will feature musical performances from Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett.

This exclusive halftime performance can be streamed on Turning Point USA social media channels, including YouTube, X, and Rumble. In addition to social media, the program will air on partner platforms, including Daily Wire+, Real America’s Voice, TBN, CHARGE!, The National News Desk, and OAN News.

“The All-American Halftime Show is an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show with no agenda other than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom,” Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet said of the halftime show. “We set out to provide an entertainment option that will be fun, excellent, and exciting for the entire family while millions are gathered together for the big game. These performers will deliver exactly that, and we can’t wait to watch the incredible show they’re about to put on. We know millions around the country will be watching too.”

For updates and more information on The All American Halftime Show, please visit the event’s website."

Ah, you must mean the ALL WHITE American Halftime Show..

God forbid our children be exposed to the real multicultural, the real multi gender identity, the real America made up all kine folks. You know.. like Muslims and Jews, brown and black folks, and the natives we stole this land from too.

That's why we say, lucky we live Hawaii. Because here, right here in downtown Pahoa, Ainaloa, and Volcano too, those white guys are just one of many. Here our neighbors are all kine folks. Here the Hawaiians teach us Aloha for all of 'em, here the Hawaiians teach us that mahu is fine.. to be revered. Here we take pride in Bad bunnies as well as good. No need go dissing 'em like that. Here we no see the differences nor need to change the channel.

But, hey, thanks for letting us know P'tang. I hope you enjoy the show.

Myman!  I'm sorry you were offended.  It was actually a Hawaiian couple from our Bible study group that brought this to our attention.  I knew absolutely nothing about Bad Bunny but they said the lyrics are misogynistic and not suitable for minors so we did some research.  Actually I asked Perplexity.ai if Bad Bunny was suitable for children and it listed a bunch of really good reasons why it is not. That's all.  If you knew us and our life you would not have written the things you did in your post.

I'm sure there are many things one can do during halftime. Choice is good, and I am sure Bad Bunny's lyrics are just fine for some families. This was just one option for parents trying to instill respect for women.  Again I am very sorry to have offended you and anyone else. That was not my intent.

Really? You think the guy will be spewing misogynistic lyrics during this performance just because he has in the past? I guess then you should be equally concerned that the Turning point production will promote racism and sexism in their production since they have a history of doing so.

Its unlikely either will happen. I would discourage younger kids from watching any part of the Suoer bowl. Teenagers would get to make their own choice for halftime entertainment, if they must stay glued to the TV.

Me, offended?

Nah, I was just taking advantage of the moment, and the freedom the Bicker Board offers, to point out the whiteness of that list you posted.. and how in reality that reflects a slim slice of the American pie. A very slim slice of the multi-everything American pie. Which I think is our richness, and am saddened by the flag waving hypocrisy of the current bill of faire.

And besides, I have no idea of who the Bad guy is, and haven't watched a Super Bowl, or football in general, since god knows when.. 30-40 years at least. It bores me silly. And, on top of that I don't do commercials in any form.. nothing is worth having to put up with some effort to manipulate my mind.

But hey, as I said, enjoy the show! And yes, make sure the kiddies aren't exposed to... what would you call it? Reality?

Again, this was the recommendation of a Hawaiian woman who's very quiet husband stood next to her and nodded gently.  I'm quite sure they would not have recommended anything that they believed to be racist or sexist.  We have grown to trust their child rearing advice over the years and we learned a great deal from these ultra kind and compassionate, sweet people.  Every parent is different and navigating all of the "stuff" out there is a full time job.  I certainly respect however you wish to raise your children.

Actually I asked Perplexity.ai if Bad Bunny was suitable for children and it listed a bunch of really good reasons why it is not.

A Hawaiian guy in line at a local store told me about some Kid Rock song lyrics, and I checked if it could possibly be true and yes, here are a few examples of his “Christian” beliefs:

Young ladies, young ladies, I like ’em underage, see. Some say that’s statutory / But I say it’s mandatory / My story ain’t that complex, two forties and a Rolex.”

Here’s another that I won’t quote , I won’t even post the spelled out url.  Warning, Kid Rock makes Bad Bunny look like the Easter Bunny.

Pretend much?

Edge, I'm sure they had no idea.  I think they just like the organization sponsoring the show and like DF pointed out, they probably won't feature that type of thing.  With Bad Bunny, according to Perplexity.ai, there really isn't much in the catalog that is family friendly.

For our family, the halftime shows with the wardrobe failures and the pole dancing and worse, over the years has become a point of consternation.

Everyone should make the choice that is right for them and their family.

Let's see, Bad Bunny (an American citizen) possibly being yanked off stage by a gaggle of unmarked masked thugs, or Kid Rock, possibly shooting up a stack of 30 packs of Bud Light (cold? warm?) as he drinks 30 packs of Bud Light (cold for sure) while also possibly singing the songs as HOTPE shows, or as Barney tells me as posted all over DogBook, is the possibility of the Secretary of Homeland Security showing up at Puppy Bowl.

God Bless America!

Punatang - Actually I asked Perplexity.ai ...

How perplexing that your ai failed to mention that Bad Bunny performs almost exclusively in Spanish? Probably going to limit his corrupting influence on the youths of Hawai'i - needs more hits in Tagalog to break through here apparently.

Like MyManao, we don't watch the corporate propaganda and people being paid to give each other traumatic brain injuries. Probably spend the time together as a classy and wholesome family leveling up demon summoning spells in Dungeons and Dragons, while listening to Twisted Sister and Elvis, backwards! ;)
