I think they just like the organization sponsoring the show
Maybe your friends should believe what they hear with their own ears, not have it explained to them with the massive amount of rationalization required. You have to ask yourself, why did they hear Bad Bunny isn’t suitable for minors, but nothing about the type of act that Kid Rock is? Somebody is leaving out the parts about their headline act that’s not suitable for church services. Or Sunday School.
How do you know with such certainty that Bunny will be Bad, and the Kid will be PG? Inside info?
You will love this one our old pastor told us... Did you hear about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac? He stayed up all night wondering if there is a Dog!
Why yes, as everybody knows, invoking pastors, old and new and God is always a sure fire way to prove your point!
But, a good God joke is priceless:
One day, a man is talking to God. "God, how long is a million years?" God answers, "To me, it's about a minute." The man then asks, "God, how much is a million dollars?" God answers, "To me, it's a penny." The man then asks, "God, may I have a penny?" God answers, "Wait a minute."

You do realize that ai tells you what you want to hear right? There's nothing, no actual critical thinking going on. Just a machine spitting stuff back at you tailored to make you come back for more.. ie keep you happy.. sad.. angry.. whatever you want. But the truth, facts.. the machine has no idea what those are.
As to Bad Bunny, besides not knowing anything about the guy, what do you know? What does the Hawaiian wahine you credit know? I'll bet nothing. But omg Charlie Kirk's insanity is better hands down.. because they are white, right?
As to Bad bunny... there's a good article in today's Guardian..
And I dare ya.. am begging you.. read the article.. watch the clip.. and tell me what about it is offensive.. to you or your kids?
I actually think it's heartwarming.. a good thing.. worth the exposure.. and am sickened by white people bs.
And, to put this in perspective.. Imagine Brother Iz singing Hawaii '78 at a halftime show in today's political climate.. I bet the Turning Point USA folks would be just as racist, have their panties all bunched up just like they got 'em with Bad Bunny.. but maybe not so much your wahine friend.. at least one can hope, eh?
The Billboard article I posted about him was also favorable. Different strokes for different folks. It's an option. Watch, don't watch, up to you.
But hey, it seems like folks posting here are the ones with their BVDs in a bunch. There are all kinds of bigotry. We become that which we hate.
Honestly, I think I'm over his subject but I will say that I really appreciate whoever moved my post from the movie thread to this one where more people check in, and I appreciate all of the hecklers that helped raise so much awareness. Barbara Streisand much?
Jules, that is a great joke and I read it, 20 years ago, in a book that I think was called "Trust" or something like that It was on a friends bookshelf in a borrowed flat in a gorgeous town on a gorgeous lake in Austria. Beautiful book and a beautiful place. Thanks for reminding me.
I'll probably record the halftime show and watch it after.

I think most folks here said their TV has an on-off control, and a channel changer. Simple. Click. Done. Nobody bothered to invent a rationale that required the coordinated efforts and timing of a three ring circus to pull off the distraction and diversion necessary to pretend something is what it isn’t.

My pleasure!
I will give you credit however Tangy!
While you may have fooled some of the people some of the time with the whole bananas and rice and the added "performative" spritzing shtick, the story about the elderly Hawaiian woman with the quiet husband who just stood by nodding his head while at Bible study as she rattled off everything bad about Bad Bunny - now that is a damn good and much better shtick to go with!
As I am quite sure, all the "real manly men" of our family will watch the Super Bowl eagerly, no doubt drinking copious amounts of Bud Light along with downing bag after bags of Doritos, now 15% cheaper!
As for the NFL Half Time Show with Bad Bunny doing all those bad things, my guess is each one of those "manly men" will watch it and love it!
As for me, my daughter, daughter in law and a few of my elderly Hawaiian neighbors with very loud and talkative husbands, along with my dear 3 year old granddaughter and of course Barney, will be glued to the TV for the Puppy Bowl XXII, hoping, for the love of God, Kristi does NOT show up!
But I also have admit, I am dying to see what the continuation of Budweiser's (I am sure the sun will also be in your eyes) already released American Icons 2026 Super Bowl commercial will be. We can watch a little teaser here in another one of my "dragging PW into the gutter" YouTube videos, titled "Stable."
