Same reason why a volcano goddess decides to leave the "evil geothermal plant" intact during an eruption

Bingo!

And preserved the Kaawaloa homestead* while destroying every other thing in sight during the inundation of Kalapana. Both of which if they don't give you chicken skin... wow, just wow!

The thing that gets me is how he, how anyone can look at the vastness of creation and be so pompous as to think we, with our puny brains, have enough gray matter, enough computational power, to understand it all, let alone grok god. That is the height of arrogance, methinks.

* Both of these event, the preservation of PGV while removing all the riff raff that gave them humbug and essentially gave geothermal the room it needs to be a robust contributor to our power needs, and the preservation of the one family that has been the reigning leaders of the Hawaiian community in Kalapana for hundreds of years, are high up on my list of "helluva story"

So there's a god and a volcano goddess, right? Are there any others we should be aware of? I was under the impression that the christian god didn't like the idea of other gods being around. Other than the other two, Jesus and the holy spirit. It's all a bit confusing. I'm aware that the holy spirit is also called the holy ghost, and that just raises a whole bunch of other questions.

And just what precisely does a theological discussion have to do with this topic? Please stop hijacking topics.

Maybe you should ask Rob that question? He opened the door to the theological debate.

I'm the one who asked that question: what precisely does a theological discussion have to do with this topic?

All I did was tell a story. Then it seems to quickly devolve into bickering about nothing as usual. Not really appreciated.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Join the club. I simply ask questions and get abuse for doing so, over and over again. But in your case, you ended your post with a clearly trolling question.

And you continue to bicker. Read again. I did not ask a question, I made a simple statement.

Yes, a rather controversial one, and at least two of us saw it as trolling. In my view, it was a very obvious choice to indulge in religious cherry picking. You could have just left out your statement about god and nothing would have been said, but you added it anyway and aimed it at a specific group of people. So why the concern that at least one person from that group responded to your statement?
