Three pukas for sure. I am amazed the entire area has stayed intact for so long. It always seemed to me there's so much energy, pressure, that something's got to give at some point. Like that fissure that opened up on the south wall of the caldera many phases ago. But no.. we've been steady as she goes for a long time.

It sure is a wonderful aspect of life though.. watch, ponder, be amazed by.. as they say 'lucky we live Hawaii!'

That didn't last long. I was watching and listening to the new V1 cam and a decent sized chunk of cinder hit it, shaking the camera and now it is blurry...

Yeah but it just got busted!
Orange Watch has been raised to Red Warning due to football sized chunks landing at/near overlooks!
It’s a pretty big one

Sunlight in the Kurtistown area is turning all golden sunset color indicating increased particles being in the air - the happened last time as well when we got the ash fall so keep an eye out.

Episode 43 of lava fountaining in Halemaʻumaʻu began at the summit of Kīlauea began at 9:17 am HST on 3/10/2026 and continues as of this notice. Fallout up to football size pieces and smaller are reported at overlooks in Hawai'i Volcanoes National park, creating hazardous ground conditions. Accordingly, the Volcano Alert Level is being raised from WATCH to WARNING.

The National Weather Service OR Washington Volcanic Ash Advisory Center reports that the plume from this eruption is reaching 25,000 feet above sea level. Ground-level sensors near the eruptive vents indicate that winds are blowing from the south direction, which suggests that volcanic gas emissions and volcanic material may be distributed to the north direction from Halemaʻumaʻu.

See, I'm tellin' ya (I'm channelling TomK), the volcano is evil!

And still, you best be thankin' all the gods for webcams, if you know what's good for you.

Yeah, we have some here in Hawaiian Acres. Checked windy.com earlier, and even though the surface winds were blowing North, the upper altitudes were blowing to the East / Southeast. Interesting that USGS didn't mention that in their alert.
