Costco Same Day Delivery

Edge - There is a middle ground between light and shadow...
Plenty of discussion of liminal spaces, but still not sure how to meet there. My point is that with $37 trillion in new US debt and 100+ ppm in atmospheric CO2 since 1965, the kids have already been given enough to cleanup, without having to directly pay the wealth owners for the privilege of doing so. Those $1.50 hot dogs only go so far in keeping the good will, and working classes, alive.

leilanidude - Won't work.
Hawai'i (and NY) - taxes people's additional high-value properties.
leilanidude - "tax me more, pay me more"
Hawai'i (and Hochul & Mamdani) - "go pound sand"

It may not have been Twilight Zone...
It wasn't, according to my search.  Really couldn't come up with anything under that name.

However, there was this:     "The Happy Place" was a 1958, hour-long script written by Rod Serling intended as The Twilight Zone's pilot episode, but it was rejected by CBS for being too dark, grim, and depressing. The plot centered on a dystopian society that forced citizens to be executed once they turned 60, deemed "obsolete".

60? Seriously? If we want some serious impact, a real reckoning, and even a morsel of a chance to rectify the damage already done by the boomers and all the others that the kids today are gonna be saddled with, I'd have to agree with Max Frost and ditch everyone over 30!

Admittedly, I generally shop at Costco during what some people call the “working hours” so the aisles at those times are filled with a grayer shopper and tourists, but all this talk about the disintegration of our honored kupuna (which again admittedly, I brought up) should be ignored. There is no connection between Costco and all this ageist discriminatory banter about a specific group of people being a burden on society. Costco should not be used as a targeted proving ground for baseless theories by younger people looking to play the blame game.  When I grew up I paid $.25 for a cup of coffee.  Not $6.00.  I saw Joni Mitchell for $3.00.  Grateful Dead $3.00.  Genesis with ONE HUNDRED 747 JET LANDING LIGHTS and a laser show, $3.00.  Not $hundreds for a concert.  That’s why I could afford to buy a house, plain and simple.  (Oh and influencers!  Don’t get me started on influencers! For what? “I looked at 20,000 shirts on Amazon and picked out the 10 best FOR YOU.”  No you didn’t.  I read the small print.  With my handheld magnifying glass that I received as a FREE thank you gift for joining AARP.  “A commission will be paid….” I don’t need to hire someone to pick out a shirt for me.  If I want a shirt I drive to Hilo, to Liberty House. Because the quality and style of their shirts will never go out of fashion.)

“Welcome to Costco. I love you.”

I love you too Costco.  I just wish we could become even closer. In Hilo?

However, by law, the cap is there because there is also a cap on the amount paid out via that monthly SS check. Raise the amount coming out and you have to raise the amount paid out. In other words, tax me more, pay me more.

How about, at a minimum, we equalize the "revenue" contribution rate amount INTO SS/Medicare to the total payout over the lifetime of the recipient? My suggestion is to put more of that burden on the employer, but as it stands today, most SS beneficiaries suck way more out of the system than they ever pay into the system.

There is 3 ways to fix SS.
1. Raise revenue
2. Cut benefits
3. Both

So, try cutting benefits. Good luck. As Yak always reminds us, guess which demographic votes the most!

Which for the life of me I cannot find a copy of online. Apparently there have been live readings of it but the only place I can find that has a copy is the Wisconsin Historical Society at the University of Wisconsin, in the Rod Serling Papers, Box 78, Folder 3.

So if anyone (ahem) with the time and means happens to get from HI to WI and find themself in the neighborhood, maybe they can stop by and make a copy / get some pics? I have some purple potato and bamboo starts, and some sub-par ukulele and tech skills to offer in exchange. I'll even listen to more ranting about influencers and the Top 10 Ever Kona Costco Samples :)

You’re asking a lot.
If in the neighborhood of the Wisconsin Historical Society (yes I have been there many times in the distant past, the book/page turning alarm clock machine imagined and built by John Muir is a highlight) as I was saying, across the street from the library is the student Memorial Union.  It would draw me in like a sci-fi tractor beam, or a promise To Serve Man, students and alumni. Do you really think I’d survive seeing what a Babcock ice cream cone or Leinenkugal beer costs there now?  Probably not a dime.

Five months of winter traversing the library mall between the Historical Society and Memorial Library is a big reason I ended up in Hawaii.  I’ll take Puna.

Let's be honest here HOTPE. Before the Babcock Ice Cream Cone, but along with the Leinenkugal beer, one must have a snack on some good old 20-year-old Hook's Cheddar Cheese at only $209.00 a pound!

Just being able to have the Hook's cheddar cheese, the Leinenkugal beer and finishing off with a Babcock Ice Cream Cone to get that Rod Sterling script just might be worth belching all that carbon to go from Hilo to Madison and back! First Class too!

But only if the Yak does not condemn us into eternal damnation!
