Nothing tops the amusement I get from reading your brilliantly written and consistent...

Awww.  You had me at "brilliantly", Jules.  I am honored to amuse and I appreciate your good counsel.

Not surprisingly and yet, so easily done.

If the hackers could figure out that the code is there to do facial recognition could they have possibly have inserted that code themselves ?
Asking for a friend.
Don't hackers also swindle people out of their savings ?

The cameras in Pahoa are being paid for by a grant thru main street Pahoa.

Those are not flock cameras. The security cameras were installed at businesses through a grant to business owners who wanted them.

Well now, how about this one, that some people can call a "win-win" for not only the Flock Cam, but also AI:

As one poster often says, "the future is here, now!"

You should maybe Google that rather than believe CNN.
The Flock camera worked like t was supposed to and actually proved that she couldn't have caused the accident.
The police blatantly lied.

As for the rest, Flock supplied the data that incorrectly identified her car as the wanted vehicle but did manage to correctly identify that her vehicle was several miles from the crash scene at the time of the accident.

Go figure!

At any event, Flock failed, AI failed and both combined to make humans fail. Coming soon to a Puna location near you??

Yup, the future sure is here, now - in Puna!

I actually drilled down thru all of the noise and found this.

The cops were in the wrong and the Flock camera helped prove it.

I'm really not sure how you could say flock failed !

Yes, and just the same.. you posted, over and over, the things Greggor had done, the meetings, the bills, the engagement at every level, and the same poster could only whine about smoothies and how he'd never lifted a figure for anyone..

It's a pattern.. habit.. and proof that reality is subjective, facts only serve if they fit a narrative.. for those without the self awareness to know their own delusions.

Thanks for your steadfast efforts at keeping things tethered to reality, Obie.

I, personally, am adverse to monitoring.. would hope we lived in a society that is collectively working for the betterment of all. But alas.. ours is filled with just enough of the other to lead us, out of necessity, down that forbidden path. Unfortunately there will be those, in positions of power, who will utilize such technology to further their own nefarious ends..

Everything failed. Flock, AI and humanity.

The big tech "bros" all say AI, pardon me, "Super Intelligence" is to make humanity better. And yes, while the Flock cam data at the END of the day cleared her, it initially provided the Police with data that the Police (insert a PunaWeb poster's very favorite and used over and over and over of a graphic term of a sexual act, of which PunaWeb moderators ALSO continually fail to moderate over and over and over) all up. As Bill Maher says about AI, or, dang, again, I mean "Super Intelligence," "If you want sloppy, shifty and full of poop, we already have us!"

Thanks for steadfastly defending that Obie, however, I hope you, or a loved one, never have to spend 13 days in jail, on suicide watch and in solitary confinement only to be released with a pat on the back and a wink and "sorry Ma'am" on the way out the door because some "Super Intelligence" AI system initially fingered you as the perp, only to prove you as innocent. If this is the best we can get from billions of dollars of venture capital investments of the average Joe's, or Kimo's 401k money, we'd be better off having the Police go back to "rounding up the usual suspects" method of law enforcement.

I hope she gets tens of millions off the Florida taxpayers. And moves. Maybe Hawaii is the place for her? Puna? Heck, she just might buy green smoothies for everyone!
