What's this growing in my dirt?

I have these hollowed out Mushroom-looking stuff growing in my dirt. (I'll try to repost the picture.)

Does it affect the soil positively or adversely? Just curious.

If they turn out to be stinkhorn mushrooms... let me know. [Big Grin][B)][Wink]

What I found in my dirt looks like mushrooms with the tops cut off then hollowed out.

Here's another stinkhorn that we found on Maui a few years ago. Sort of an alien creature appearance. We're starting to see them pop up recently here in Puna also.
