DOGS what we do for them and they for us
#1
Average cost of a dog? $331.

Number of households in america with at least one dog? 44.8 million.

Number of pet dogs in the US 74.8 million

What americians spend on pets in 2006 $38.5 Billion

What they'll pony up for vet care $9.8 billion

How much the pet industry could ring up by 2010 at the current rate of growth $50 billion.

Cost of MRI pet scan $2000 to $2700.

Cost of Radiation $6,000

Percent of owners who would buy a memorial for their yard or garden 23%

Minum cost for a taxidermist to freezedry your dog $1000.. cloning?

Number of states where judges adminstered financial trusts set up in a pet's name 25 (in Hawaii they can be benificiaries)

percentage of pet owners who said there pets sleep with them in bed 56%...yuk!

Minimum lifetime cost of a medium size dog, including food, shelter, supplies and basic vet care. $4500-5000

Number of sates in which cruelty to animals is a felony 42 ( I think Hawaii it's not)

So I guess with what I spend on my kids I could have bought a new car?

People who own dogs have 10% lower blood pressure than the general population. I would guess this is offset if you own a calico cat at the same time.

At my last job, we had 16 dogs that came into work every day & had full run of the building. In informal poll indicated that 75% of us stayed with the company because of the dogs. It was common for co-workers to tell you "go outside and play frisbee with one of the dogs" to cure extreme stress and code-writers block! Alot of our clients would call us & first off, ask us how the dogs were doing Smile If I ever have a company & employees I'm copying the dog policy for sure!

want to borrow a dane for a day?
When I took my Rottn'Dane to europe and we lived in so.of France, he drove with me around 8-9-10 countries and always when we stop, whatever country, he was multilingual immediately, Rouff.

As the ones I have now they are people magnets, just because of they're size. I believe the longer you live with animals the more acute your 6th sense gets. The bigger the animal the bigger the connection.
I've looked eye to eye with one buffalo, tennis ball! the size of his eye ball. He was laying down and I walked up on him he didn't move, grunt, twich, nuthin. Then his eyelid opened up and the big black eye was lookin at me, like WTF? Me too. But I said, "don't get up" I'll go back", took the picture and retreated. Man I want a buffalo for a dog. When I raise steers it's close. Time for one more heffer.
Truth is when ya got a pack of K9 flesh, that could eat a six pack of lamb a day, there's no money for thanksgiving or christmas.
My kids have a pretty good vocabulary too.
And they sing in quartette, I'll try to record it next time. lol

no matter what you say or do to your dog they'll still come over to where you stil and drop the face in your lap, asking what up? I swear there's more communication between me and my pack than me and the county. When my dogs say they'll get back to ya they do. The county? don't hold your breath.
