Missing Man
#1
Anyone seen Willie Dennis Eriksson?

A California woman is asking the public for help in locating her missing son on the Big Island.....
Eriksson was last seen getting into a vehicle that evening at a store in Mountain View

Man, I don't know what you do for a living but I wish I had as much time on my hands as you do.

I work on a computer literally 12 hours a day, unfortunately.

When I take a break... I jump to Punaweb as well as MANY other sites.

I could care less if I was a "punatic, a kamaaina, a newbie" or whatever.

Post counts are the farthest thing on my mind.

Making Puna a better place for my son to grow up in is the most important thing to me.

I only try to post useful information

hi Damon, I understand, but I wish you would stop posting news stories as new topics. It bumps the personal and communal topics to the second page. We are all capable of buying a newspaper or reading the local news online.

I never object to people posting enthusiastically, but I feel it is poor netiquette to start more than one's share of NEW topics ... look at how many of the topics you have started.

I like the topics that go on and on and aren't merely one news story.
Not that I don't care someone is missing, but unless someone here knows him, I'm happy to follow this story in the Tribune Herald.

1. The Tribune Herald hadn't reported this that I know of yet.

2. Many people on Punaweb don't have access to the local papers

3. A newspaper story is that day's story... A web forum is an going dialog that can continue for a while.

4. It was never printed in the Advertiser, as it was run as a "Breaking News Item"

5. What's one person's garbage could be another person's treasure.

Have a good day.

Uh, actually the Tribune-Herald had a long article on this either earlier this week or late last week.

I've met the mother a few times and helped her out with making copies of flyers, etc. Very nice lady and truly dedicated to finding her son.

Doh!

Thanks for correcting me JD.

You must know then that any other means of posting a way to find her son is a help then.

Of course, its been featured on Hawaii's Most Wanted on TV (to try to help locate him), the newspaper a couple of times, but all exposure helps.

whether or not it's been published, I feel like this is too many topics on the front page started by one person. More than two is pushing it in proportion to the number of members.

The value of this particular story isn't what I'm arguing; it's the number of news type stories as new topics. Punaweb members have online access, and our local papers ARE accessible online.

I wish you would restrain yourself with starting new topics, that's all.
