Well Oahu is part of Hawaii the last time I checked and many people here in Puna Surf and don't like people coming from nowhere and surfing on their turf.

Ya but when was the last time someone was threatened by a band of 75 machete wielding natives. I mean that doesn't even happen in Oahu does it??

Guess your not familiar with the Beat Downs that happen.

And Kainoa MacGee is a very well known person here in Hawaii [Wink]

Look Andrew, the thread is about Surfing,

The guy from Oahu went to find good surf, and now has an incredible story to come back and tell his friends in Hawaii about.

Your personal attack has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Let's keep it on subject at least... surfing.

Surfing and the way surfers protect their spots.

Not since I've been back on the island. (just giving my son swim lessons now)

My wifes cousin is the 2001 a former National Jr. Longboard Champion.

And his father is a member of Punaweb here.

I don't get what your saying... just because I've been too busy to surf since I moved back here a month ago... are you implying that I don't surf?

I used to be able to walk to Waiks, Kuhio, Ala Moana Bowls, etc... up until I moved back here... Now I'm more then 15 miles from the Ocean.

Hard to surf now that I'm not walking distance from the beach and have more responsibilities to take care of now.

OK Damon Let me explain it real simple so even you can understand (maybe). Your post about someone who was threatened in INDONESIA by an angry mob wielding machetes has absolutely nothing to do with some guy asking a question here on this forum about where to surf here on the Big Island and where his kids can swim here on the Big Island in a safe place. Get it now?? Probably not.

See ya.

Andrew...

Did you read the whole discussion and where it went from the initial post?

I was just following the conversation...and all of a sudden you posted something out of nowhere that derailed things....

Go back and re-read the thread from front to back. [Wink]

And let me tell you... if he wants to surf in a safe place...then he better be ready to deal with some of the locals.

Do you get it? You just don't bring kids from the mainland and send them out surfing with locals without being prepared for the worst...

Unless of course your prepared to have your kid come home busted up.
