Happy 4th of July.
#1
A thoughtful one for sure, with a country mired in war, with oil at 145, with the dollar at record lows, with unemployment on the rise, with neither GM or Chrysler likely to survive, and with the totem of the 4th itself, BUDWISER, likely to be sold overseas.

Hang in there, we'll be all right. People have been through it all before. Of course it doesn't necessarily make it fun.

In context, these are worth a read and a little meditation.

I must confess, it's a little difficult to get through those with my emotional state intact.

The title of your thread and it's contents seem a little at odds. But happy 4th to you as well.

Happy Fourth to you, too.

We were going to have some discussions on patriotic themes after the barbecue but after we ate so much we couldn't do anything more mental than play croquette. Especially with the chickens and dogs running through the field. It all worked out well since by the time the game was done so was the ice cream. Turning that handle was all worthwhile when scooping the fresh strawberry home made ice cream out of the freezer. Yum!

We stayed home and had a great holiday with the neighbors, it was really nice!
