***November 24 5:30PM Hilo Christmas Parade kicks off the season on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Hilo’s Christmas Parade is traditionally the first Big Island parade of the season, on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. Today’s parade is no exception. It will start at 5:30 p.m. at Bayside Chevron, with participants assembling there starting at 4:30. The parade will go through downtown Hilo and return to Bayside Chevron. The judges will be at Central Pacific Bank. Several stores in downtown Hilo plan to be open before and after the parade so local residents can do local holiday shopping.

***Saturday, December 1, 8:30AM 2012 Pahoa Parade:

The main street in the town of Pahoa (Old Government Road) will be temporarily closed for the Pahoa Holiday Parade from approximately 8:30 am to 11:30, Saturday, December 1, 2012.
The road closure will be from Apa’a Street (the dump road) to Ka’ohe Homestead Road (Pahoa School’s intersection).
Participants will line up along Apa’a Road, entering from Ka’ohe Homestead Road.

***December 8, Saturday 5:30PM - Kea’au Christmas Parade

The 2012 Kea'au Christmas Parade will be held starting at 5:30 p.m. in Kea'au Village, just south of Hilo. This parade has become a fixture in the Christmas season for families and members of the local community. Typically 50 or more entrants thrill the crowds of sightseers crowding village streets.
