Has anyone else been watching the weather models?
#1
It's been 4 models runs in a row, and now there is an area of interest where the GFS said it would all start. As with Ana, the European model is further south with a shallower system. Maybe a difference is the GFS shows the high to our northwest on Nov 8 at <1020 and trending down, whereas the ECMWF has the same feature at 1028 and trending stronger.

Let's get a discussion started.

Okay bluesboy. I don't think this is the appropriate place to have weather discussions. I don't want to confuse people with too much jargon. So I'm moving weather discussion to a new Facebook group "Puna Weather".

Took me a while to figure it out - it's a view roughly from the North Pole, so everything is in an odd perspective. North America is in the bottom center, South America on the bottom right, Africa on the right, and Asia at the top.

Harry, this is absolutely the place to have weather discussions and I hope you will continue here. Your info and updates with Ana were invaluable and much appreciated by so many. (Many of whom might not do Facebook!)

I hope you won't move all the info to Facebook. If someone on Punaweb doesn't want to read about TSs and hurricanes (can understand why), they can choose to not read these related posts.

Looking forward to your next post when you have one!

Here's the psychedelic link. seems a bit premature for tape or anything, but if you're out of lava's way, another fear to feed: http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/win...0,2.49,289

The latest GFS run is tending toward the ECMWF, with a lower latitude and weaker system. I'm still watching closely since both major global models continue to show general troughiness at the surface with multiple centers of circulation. The GFS continues to show a front picking up this mess to our south and bringing it overhead next weekend. I'll keep my posts here shorter. I'm going to be doing more techie type posts on the fb group. I hope that works well.
