Do you know if there is a pickleball court between Hilo and Pahoa? I heard that there is one in Kona, so I am thinking that there is one around here somewhere. I checked with the YMCA and they have not heard of pickleball. Let's play!

Apparently they do. On outdoor courts. Three times a week.

I don't think I'd ever heard of it before I saw a reference to it somewhere else earlier today. Like tennis, no?

Combination of table tennis.. racket ball.. and tennis.
Basically tennis with a wiffle type ball ..smaller rackets.. and shorter court than tennis.
A good sport for older people who want exercise, but don't want the full tennis court workout.

There is one in Leilani Estates at the Pavilion. You have to go to the office to get the supplies.

Yes, it is tennis for old people. You don't have to run as much or hit the ball as hard. I have a sore shoulder and I broke my foot a few months ago. Now I am back to playing pickleball. There is no way I could play tennis again.

The Hilo Yacht (less) club has a couple of courts. A few of my friends are avid players there.
Would love to see courts out here myself!
