Dog Food

The 50 pound bags of dog food that I buy every month at Walmart for $26. a bag today are $30. Is that legal? As if Walmart needs my extra $4. I'm pretty mad Sad

Is it legal? 50 pounds of dog food at Safeway would cost you $75 based on what I saw last time I priced it. At $30 Walmart is a bargain.

ETA: Walmart is giving every employee a minimum of 2 weeks sick paid leave if they get the virus. That money has to come from somewhere. Welcome to capitalism/reality. Expect prices of everything to go up:

I don’t know if this is the case (does anyone know?) - - but I wonder if some stores are flying in some products they deem essential, rather than wait for the ship? It would save a good ten days transit time, but cost more in transport charges which they would pass on to the consumer.

Better $4.00 extra for dog food, rather than no dog food?

Pre-virus pricing, a 36-pound bag of puppy food delivered to our house was cheaper than going to Wal-Mart to get one. (Amazon flown in). For whatever reason Amazon uses UPS to ship dog food so no waiting at USPS petri-dish (there is NO social distancing, just long packed lines) to get delivery.

Tractor Supply opens on Saturday. Big selection of dog food.

The puppy food I was ordering from Amazon went from "in stock" to "Usually ships in 1-3 weeks". I ordered while it was "in stock" so don't know if they are really shipping it or not.

Tractor Supply did have a huge supply of dog food. Pallets and pallets of it. If I recall correctly the 50# bags of pedigree that used to be $26 at Walmart were almost $31.
