Private car rental

Aloha all, I will be arriving on the Island December 10th or 11th and need an economical car rental until my POV arrives. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I simply cannot afford to pay what the rental agencies want. I estimate about two weeks would be how long I would need the car. Mahalo, Aunty KanikiLee

Also consider a U-Haul cargo van. Daily rates are around $20 + mileage. They have weekly/monthly rates even lower with some mileage included. It will also allow you to transport home improvements, furnishings, or even sleep in it if your home is not quite ready.

The daily rate sounds low for a U-haul van but the 89 cents per mile is brutal and will quickly exceed the cost of the daily rental just running short errands. And the daily rate for a U-haul pax van with unlimited mileage is $129/day.

I ran the dates 12/10/20-12/24/20 (two weeks) through expedia for a compact car and it came to $29/day for unlimited mileage, taxes etc included, $609 total.
